BC Gymnastics

Recreational Gymnastics

Rules and Policies

It is the purpose of The BC Gymnastics program to provide all of its participants with quality gymnastics instruction in a safety conscious environment. The program is designed to facilitate the learning of gymnastics on all levels from the recreational level to the competitive level.

Some important information to be aware of, regarding our program, is as follows:

Registration

  1. There are generally 4 sessions per year, Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer. (Summer is an 8-week session). A preregistration for children currently in the program is held for each session, as well as an open registration available to new students. At registration, the parent must be present to fill out the registration form.

  2. Classes are to be paid for at the time of registration. Checks should be made out to Baltimore County Gymnastics, Inc. There will be a $15.00 charge for all NSF checks.

  3. Refunds will be given only in the case of extended illness or injury, or for classes canceled due to insufficient registration. A $5.00 rescheduling fee will be applied if you need to change a class after registration.

General Information

  1. Parents must wait in the lobby with their children until the instructor calls them into the gym. Parents are not allowed in the gym, however you are welcome to watch through the observation windows.

  2. Upon dismissal, parents must be in the lobby ready to pick up the children as the instructor brings them out. (Please be on time…the kids get very upset when they do not see you!)

  3. The children should come dressed and ready to participate. Girls may wear a leotard, biker shorts, or comfortable close fitting clothing. Hair should be pulled back and no jewelry should be worn. Sweat clothes are OK in cold weather. Boys may wear shorts and T-shirts or sweatpants when cold out. Pants with belt loops, zippers, or snaps are prohibited, as are large oversized T-shirts (for both boys and girls). The children should be barefoot.

  4. Ashley Franks is the Recreational Program coordinator. She will distribute newsletters during each session to keep parents informed. If your child is absent, missed information may be picked up from our office.

Inclement Weather Policy and Holiday Closings

We are closed New Years, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas and Halloween if it should fall on a week night. Always refer to the newsletter for closings due to meets we are hosting. In case of inclement weather, call the gym office at (410) 335-4646. The message will only be changed if we are closed. We will make every effort to make up classes that we must cancel. However, classes cannot be made up if the child did not attend due to personal reasons.

Fundraisers

The Parent’s Association sponsors various fundraisers to purchase equipment that you see being used by all the kids in the gym. Information about these fundraisers will be distributed via your child’s instructor. Your participation is really appreciated!

THANK YOU! WE HOPE THAT YOUR GYMNAST HAS A GREAT SESSION!
